General
|

YMC-Pack Protein-RP is a wide-pore butyl reversed-phase column designed for long useful life in acidic eluents. |

High Chemical Stability

YMC-Pack Protein-RP is designed to overcome the major limitation of short chain reversed phase columns used for biomolecule analyses. In such columns, aqueous acidic eluents, such as 0.1% TFA, often leads to a loss of retention and resolution. Protein-RP utilises a proprietary bonding and endcapping process to produce a phase which is resistant to the typical eluents used for the analysis of proteins and peptides.
The following figure graphically illustrates the superior retention stability seen with Protein-RP. There is virtually no loss in retention over the course of 16 days of continuosly pumping 0.1% TFA. This is in sharp contrast to competitive columns which can show rapid retention loss of more than 70% during the same time period.

High Mass Recovery

The high purity silica support and complete bonding coverage of Protein-RP results in very high sample recoveries. This is an important consideration when choosing a column for biochemical analyses. The table below shows recoveries of Proteins and Peptides. YMC-Pack Protein-RP provides higher recoveries than competitive C4 columns.

Column care

YMC-Pack Protein RP is stable towards hydrolysis between pH 1,5-7,5. Remove acid and buffer salts before storage. Store the column in methanol / water = 70/30. Clogged inlet frits often can be cleaned by changing the flow direction or replacement.
For detailed information please refer to the “Column Care and Use Instructions”, which are shipped with each analytical column.
